The ARS Sojourner

Wes Hayward, W7ZOI, and Russ Carpenter, AA7QU, take great pleasure in announcing the ARS Rendezvous in 2001. This will be a wilderness adventure for up to 12 lucky members of the QRP community.

Here is an outline of this outlandish idea:

    Leaders—Wes Hayward, W7ZOI and Russ Carpenter, AA7QU

Purpose—to have a great outdoor adventure, make new friends, talk about back country radio, and do a little operating

Level of difficulty—suitable for beginning backpackers

    Location—in the Oregon Cascades

Food—planned and provisioned by Wes and Russ

Date—some time in August, 2001. We'll choose the date after we've heard from interested persons and have found out which dates would be best for them

Duration—three days in the back country

    Maximum number of participants—12

    Nearest major airport—Portland, Oregon

If you are potentially interested in the ARS Rendezvous, please let Russ know by email. We guarantee that this event will take place, even if it's just the two of us!
