Assault on Mt. Rogers: To the Top of Virginia |

| I went to Mt. Rogers, VA on March 21, and spent the better part of five hours hiking and climbing and failed to find the mountain top. I went back on April 26, with a trail map and Garman GPS-12. After about 2 hours of hiking and climbing 4 miles I made it to the top and had a QSO with WB8OZX, Mac in Ludington, MI. I used my SW20 and dipole between spruce trees. This was certainly the most demanding hike to any top so far. The view on the way is the best so far. But you cannot see from the top. If there are others who would like to go to Mt. Rogers, I can help direct them if they desire. It is well worth the effort. I have never received the pictures of my operation from Brasstown Bald, GA. It is possible the gentleman (I met at the top) will send them at some time in the future. I do have pictures for the others and Mt. Rogers and will forward them soon. My wife was disappointed that she could not go to Mt. Rogers with me. She wants to know what top is next? Needless to say, "I am having fun"!
