FOBB ’04:
STEMMING THE QRP TIDE

My QTH for the Flight of the Bumblebees 2004 was the Tidal Basin, Washington, DC, famous for the cherry blossoms.

I was located midpoint on a line connecting the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial. I had no problems operating from the park bench, only a few curious looks from tourists.

The rig was a MFJ-9020 (20m), a 7AH gel cell, a Whiterook paddle and a quarter wavelength wire vertical with two radials at ground level.

Maybe next year I will rent one of the boats and try maritime mobile. I was Bumblebee No. 146
