ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE:

Editor, The ARS Sojourner,

I recently saw a contest article by Michael Dormann, W7DRA in which he outlines the rig he was using. It was described as follows:

"TX (transmitter) using a 6AU6 / 5763 MOPA, and an RX (receiver) using a 6CB6 / 12AU7 regenerative."

Is there any possibility that I could obtain a copy of the schematic / parts lists for these two items? Any help given would be gratefully received.

Sincerely,
Ed Alcock

(Editor’s note: W7DRA was able to fulfill part of Mr. Adcock’s request in this edition of The ARS Sojourner.)

I am not called “Dr. Frankenstein” for nothing in the glowbugs web site. Accompanying this short story is the schematic for the receiver Ed Alcock is asking about.

Also included here is a photograph of the amplifier I was using for the CQWW CW 160 LP recently.

I’m looking forward to next July for the 2006 Flight of the Bumblebees. I hope to have some time to put together a 1A5 technology rig, but probably more important is to get something ready that goes on 20- meters, as I find that 40-meters does not have enough activity.
