SPRINT STORIES: Making the March SP a real picnic

For the March 2007 ARS Spartan Sprint I operated from a homebrew picnic table on my patio in Portland. OR.

The accompanying photograph shows the gear used:

+ Atlas 250x transceiver with SWR/Watt meter on top
+ J-37 straight key to check key down power
+ Bencher BY-1 paddle in Tupperware case
+ K1EL keyer in back of radio
+ 7 Ah battery in back of multimeter, open frame charger to the left
+ At lower right is white Belden low loss feed to dipole in trees (the Butternut 
HF6V in the background not part of this setup
