1. The blue bars show the results with the preamp (if any) turned off. The red bars show the results with the preamp turned on.
2. The data are sorted in order of results with the preamp turned off
3. If the data are positive numbers, they appear to the right of the X axis. If the data are negative numbers, they appear to the left.
4. The names of the radios include some annotations. Here is what they mean:
"(Q)" means that the source of the data is a review published by the ARRL Lab in QST;
"(S)" means that the source of the data is a review published by Adventure Radio Society;
"(M)" means "minimum." We were unable to complete the test, because another factor (like phase noise or gain compression) interferred before the test could be completed. But we are at least able to say that the actual data we were attempting to measure is equal to or better than the level at which the interference occurred.
5. The bar charts currently include some past reviews by ARRL of low power radios.
6.The bar charts also include test data for the Yaesu FT-1000MP We include them to give you a sense of the "state of the art" in amateur gear.
